Motivasi Menjadi Guru dalam Perspektif FIT-Choice Theory pada Mahasiswa Pendidikan Akuntansi Universitas Negeri Medan

Abstract

Rendahnya minat generasi muda terhadap profesi guru menjadi perhatian dalam upaya peningkatan kualitas pendidikan. Pada mahasiswa Pendidikan Akuntansi, keputusan memilih karier mengajar dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor psikologis dan perseptual sebagaimana dijelaskan dalam kerangka FIT-Choice. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran persepsi profesi guru, efikasi mengajar, nilai utilitas, dan pilihan karier alternatif dalam menjelaskan motivasi menjadi guru. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain survei terhadap mahasiswa Pendidikan Akuntansi Universitas Negeri Medan. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner terstruktur dan dianalisis menggunakan regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persepsi profesi guru dan efikasi mengajar berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap motivasi menjadi guru (p < 0,05). Nilai utilitas tidak menunjukkan pengaruh yang signifikan, sedangkan pilihan karier alternatif berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap motivasi menjadi guru (p < 0,05). Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa motivasi mahasiswa untuk berkarier sebagai guru lebih ditentukan oleh keyakinan terhadap kemampuan diri dan pemaknaan terhadap profesi dibandingkan pertimbangan manfaat praktis. Implikasi penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya penguatan efikasi mengajar dan citra profesi guru dalam pendidikan calon guru.
